A blend of elegance and Hyderabadi warmth marked the formal engagement of tennis star Sania Mirza with Mohammad Sohrab Mirza at a five-star hotel. The media, which was anxious to cover Sania's engagement ceremony, was kept at a bay. Sania's guests included Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi and Prajarajyam chief Chiranjeevi. Some political leaders were also present at the ceremony.
While Sania Mirza is a popular name in every Indian household, hardly anyone knows about Sohrab. Sohrab's father owns a chain of bakeries in Hyderabad. The 23-year-old Sohrab will pursue his MBA in Britain. Their wedding may take place after two years or so.
