Rob and Kristen - Was there really any doubt about the MMAs?

The Best Kisses - Three years in a row...
Was there really any doubt in anyone's mind that Twilight and Rob and Kristen would steal the show?
Of course there are some bitter harpies out there today; a few I've found myself a little bewildered at, because they appear to be Potter fans - and not really happy ones at that as their movie franchise only walked away with one award. And even that was for Slytherin nemesis - Draco Malfoy aka  the delightful Tom Felton as Best Villain.

Look...takes a deep breath and puts on big girl knickers; it's pretty simple when you look at it.
Harry Potter has been successfully going since 2000. Stars; Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have grown up in front of their fans from 'young children to fully grown adults'. The books have been written with young children to young adults in mind. JK Rowling has always been very specific about the genre her books have been created for, and the age limit and expectations of her reading fan base. Therefore as such, Warner Brothers have always treated that with respect and created the movies around that literacy fantasy.

Twilight have always been written with 'young adults' in mind and as such, the mood of the books created by Stephenie Meyer have always reflected that. The stars; Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have always been shown in a more grown up way. The four books have taken the journey from teenage to adulthood very seriously, and tackle it in such a way that the outcome of the story, is for the main characters to get married and have a family - because the fantasy genre that Stephenie Meyer created, is a much more darker and a lot more adult than any Harry Potter book could ever be.

Two different genres, two different outcomes.

For people to start whining  and complaining now - please it's just poor loser syndrome.
Harry Potter; although much darker and coming to the end of it's run for fantasy fiction stories, it really doesn't have the pulling power that a bunch of vampires and a broken headboard could ever have. Harry falls in love with Ginny the red head similarity to his dear late mother (didn't see that one coming - i thought Hermione was a much better match?) Speaking of his brainier other half,  Ron finally claims Hermione as his own (gag reflex at the ready). Most of the Weasley's survive the massacre and Voldemort gets defeated once again by the boy wizard who simply won't die. Edward (dashing undead boyfriend) falls in love with Bella (the clumsy human) and throughout the book series; they have to tackle other vamps trying to kill Bella (no evil dark lord but a bunch of blood thirsty monsters) and beat off annoying childhood friend who turns into a wolf and then imprints on the daughter of Edward and Bella (gag reflex once more) and you have the typical love story with the hottest bedroom scene slipped in at the very last minute, to tease during the two minute trailer.

Speaking of the trailer...
I was on tender-hooks last night because some how before the MTV Movie Awards - Summit (rolls eyes) mistakenly released the trailer onto their 'official' Breaking Dawn site - believing that they were testing it. Now colour me suspicious, but you don't put up a test site a day before and then tweet it has gone live, decide to test the site by putting up the trailer hours before a live event?

Either way, the Twi fans were in a tizzy - so much was in that 2 minute trailer for everyone to be delighted; half naked Jacob running away in disgust after receiving his Wedding Invitation from a sneaky Edward (as in the book) Mum and Dad of Bella looking at theirs with a resigned grimace from Charlie and a delighted smile from Renee. We have the Volturi getting theirs (eek) and the main event itself...Edward marrying Bella. Honeymoon *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* because lets face it, we all know what's going to happen. Broken headboard (be still my rapidly beating heart) all those back muscles being put to good use - well Rob did boast about the hours of gym work he had to put in, plus cycling his bike around the closed movie lot in Baton Rouge. Finally accumulating in waterfall hanky panky with what a surprise, Bella discovering she's pregnant. The shocked look mirrors every young blushing Bride when they find out their honeymoon frolicking has resulted in a little baby...just not as quickly as Bella does LOL.
Such a tender moment from Bella's husband...
On to the main event itself...

Can i just say what a delight it was to wake up this morning and receive some lovely DM's, letting me know Twilight swept the board including Best Kiss last night? Seeing as I'm on the other side of the duck pond and won't be able to watch the MTV awards until tonight - it tickled me pink to know that Eclipse practically won in each of their categories.
Kristen - stunning in a blood red Balmain mini-dress
If anyone can pull off a blood red safety pin and studded dress - Kristen certainly can. It was both edgy and stylish and completely Kristen, as she set it off with black heels which she later changed out of (not one for wearing shoes that pinch her feet and make them hurt bless her) into flat shoes. Rob some expected to walk the red carpet but just like the years before, he opted to let Kristen take that honour while he slipped in back stage and waited for her patiently, after hugging a blooming Bryce Dallas Howard. The Twilight cast members arriving seemed to set the course of the nights events. Only two from the Potter crew came to Los Angeles; Tom Felton - nominated for Best Villain and Emma Watson - nominated for Best Kiss and Best Female Performer, as well as Deathly Hallows nominated for Best Movie.
Only eyes for you Kristen...
*sigh* there is something about the way Rob looks at Kristen that makes your toes curl in your shoes, definite adoration in that man's eyes. Yes as predicted Rob, Kristen and Taylor sat side by side much like last years events - Kristen flanked by the two men of the Twilight series and watched adoringly by her man on screen and off screen as the show started.

Best Male Performance;
Despite the category filled with some fine actors - Rob won it once again, proving the Twi-fans are incredibly loyal.
Yes I've won it again...
There was a lovely little knee touch from Rob to Kristen as he stood up to receive his award, thanking everyone for voting for him. A little shocked and surprised that he had won again, considering the actors he was up against including his co-star in Harry Potter - Daniel Radcliffe and co-star present - Taylor Lautner. Glancing finally over at Kristen as he rapped up his speech and earning a shy smile from Kristen as the camera turned towards her as she clapped....one, two, three awwww....

Best Fight;
Between several good movies from last year and some really good fight sequences...the duel between Victoria, Riley and Edward won hands down...
Rob, Xavier and Bryce pick up Best Fight...
Bryce looking absolutely blooming - obviously pregnant and happy to have beaten of the likes of Ron, Harry and Hermione waving their wands around, with good old vampire is going to rip your head off violence, which of course Rob incorporated in his speech 'After ripping your head of, you got pregnant!'
Yes i know, Rob's verbal filter was definitely turned off last night and poor Kristen looked absolutely flabbergasted, but she knows what Rob is like when he gets a little excited and that young man was all kinds of excited last night.

Best Kiss;
You must first forgive me if i don't have them in order; note I've not seen the awards show just yet (that comes later on this evening in the UK - MTV 9pm) Everyone was anticipating the 'Best Kiss' award and would Rob and Kristen successfully win it three years in a row?
No pressure there then LOL. Well as luck would have it - they did!
Kristen beaming with love...
For three years running Rob and Kristen have now successfully picked up Best Kiss; this year beating off the likes of Natalie Portman's female lip lock with Mila Kunis (Black Swan) and Daniel Radcliffe's hallucinating smooch with Emma Watson (Deathly Hallows) As they got on stage, you knew they were going to play to the audience. This couple is not about performing to an audience of actors and celebrities to gain extra points. They're not about PDA just for the sake of PDA, because it's expected. So for anyone who is annoyed that they didn't kiss on stage again (if you can call Rob grabbing Kristen very quickly last year and a two second lip lock as a smooch *shrugs shoulders*) then you will never been happy. As far as i am concerned what everyone did get was funnier and more sexy than two actors in a real life relationship locking lips could ever do. Rob decided he was not going to kiss Kristen, instead he wanted to kiss someone else. That someone else was in the audience and as the camera panned towards Taylor Lautner, you just knew something really wicked was brewing.
Rob kissing Taylor's hand - OH MY!
With encouragement from Kristen "Go get him honey" (yes she did say that!) Rob runs off the stage and with as much enthusiasm as a little boy on Christmas morning; grabs Taylor and leans in for a smooch. Not only did he hug his co-star and arch enemy for Bella's affections; he kisses Taylor on the head and then the hand before racing back onto the stage once more, leaving a shocked Taylor in his wake. Of course, it had been all strategically planned; you can only go so far with the 'will not kiss you' line before it gets old. Last year, it was the tug for dominance which resulted in Rob just grabbing Kristen and kissing her quickly. The year before was the whole 'sultry lead up' and then turn away at the very last minute. So this years had to top both of them. I liked it. Not only that, but when Rob approached the stage again Kristen had the Popcorn award in her hand claiming "this is mine" just as Rob makes a grab for her;
Possessive Rob...
"I want to take you backstage"
Be still my beating heart...
Leaving the stage together hand in hand.
There was no pretence, no nervous awkwardness just good honest fun and a lot of giggling from the two love-birds, as they exit the stage after winning. I love the fact that they're more at ease now in public; deciding that there really is no need trying to keep the worst kept secret in Hollywood hidden any more. After all, those that have worked with Rob all sing Kristen's praises - it must really suck to be a hater right now with all these wonderful confessions flying around?
Rob and Kristen backstage...

Despite the fact that they showed a lot of restraint on-stage; it's moments like this off-stage that warm the cockles of many a shipper/fan's heart. They were seen holding hands and giggling at each other; whispering as they stood in a very quiet corner by themselves.

Best Female Performance;

The category was extensive this year, with so many worth while actresses up for the Best Female award. But just like the other categories, Twi-fans voted well and Kristen won yet again;
Rob was noticeably absent while Kristen went on stage and delivered her speech - considering that immediately after Kristen collected her Popcorn award; both she, Rob and Taylor were up to introduce the Breaking Dawn Part One teaser trailer (see above in case you missed it) so i can imagine his goofy grin as he stood backstage and watched her announce "Sorry Natalie but the Popcorn is mine"
Kristen - proud owner of the Best Female award (yet again!)
Introducing Breaking Dawn - Part One;

After successfully winning in their categories; Rob, Kristen and Taylor took to the stage to introduce the teaser trailer that was leaked on line. Yes, despite MTV announcing that they had a special surprise for all Twilight fans and the build up to the first glimpses of 'Breaking Dawn', Summit mistakenly released it before hand.  But that didn't stop the trio allowing others the excitement who didn't give into the temptation (unlike me) of watching it for the first time.
Kristen and Rob...
Along with a happy Taylor; still recovering from his smooch from Rob...
MTV Generation Award;

Although this had nothing to do with Twilight; Rob was asked alongside former co-star from Sweet Home Alabama (love that movie) Patrick Dempsey - drool...who is a close friend and Chelsea Handler, whom i believe is also a good friend and allowed the winner to appear in some sketches of her show...Reese Witherspoon;
Rob with his carefully planned out speech from from Vanity Fair to Water for Elephants...
Do i really want to know what's going on here?
For such a deserving actress; a woman who made quite an interesting speech about when she first started out and how leaked nude videos would have embarrassed you personally, and leaked nude photos that would have embarrassed your career publicly as well. Is it me or was Reese 'subtly' hitting out at the young generation of actresses, who believe that displaying their bodies with the intention of getting somewhere by in the business aka the alleged naked photos of actress Blake Lively, really doesn't achieve much in promoting self respect? As a mother of two children and who has worked steadily in the entertainment industry for nearly twenty years; Reese is very able and hard working actress. The sort of person who has the same goals and ideas as she did when she started out. I can definitely see a similarity in Kristen in that respect.

Speaking of Kristen and Reese;
Co-Stars of Rob posing together...
This is for all those haters out there that kept insisting that Rob's 'working relationship' with Reese was threatening his 'relationship' with Kristen;

BWAHAHAHAHA!

How about another one?
Ryan Reynolds with Reese, Rob and Kristen...
Those that believe Rob hooks up with every co-star married or not, will not exactly be happy about the plethora of 'back stage' photos that have come filtering out slowly from last nights epic Twilight win. Considering Kristen has nothing but respect for her peers in the industry; having met Rob's co-star Reese Witherspoon on the set of 'Water for Elephants' and worked with Ryan Reynolds in 'Adventureland' - this makes a lovely photo of the four of them - don't you think?

Best Movie;

Voting that was still going while the show aired, finally came to a conclusion as Twilight Saga - Eclipse won Best Movie Award. Beating off Black Swan, Inception, Deathly Hallows to name but a few.
Rob and Kristen making their way to the stage along with the cast...
A little bit of Aww and flack chequered shoes - so Kristen...
My thoughts of the night?

I know this sounds so cliché, but the night completely belonged to Rob and Kristen. They swept the boards with their awards, they entertained the audience with acceptance speech and cuteness. Followed by cute verbal PDA as Rob grabbed Kristen after hamming it up with Taylor. The fans got to see them in all their awkward glory, except less awkwardness and just simply 'them' just the way they are.
The happy couple...
It was a night in which everyone got a bit of everything and no one was left out. Some suggesting Rob should have been the host, because he was up on stage more times than the host Jason Sudeikis was. Kristen stole the night with her edgy dress and cute self, as she collected her award smiled and shook her head at Rob's little speeches, and told him to 'go and get him honey' as he flew off the stage towards Taylor. There was also the collective giggle and hand hold as Kristen and Rob watched the trailer when the cheer went up for the 'bedroom/headboard scene' between Edward and Bella. It was a 'Rob and Kristen extravaganza' for all to see and enjoy. What will happen next year? Who really knows. This time next year it will be Breaking Dawn Part One up against the competition; including once again Deathly Hallows Part Two. Who will win...only you the fans...can decide.
Rob has only eyes for one woman in his life...
T.
